What I should do is write an article on the subject. Tough to do, since much of what makes a list is based on the emotion it fostered at the time. Once those emotional embers have cooled, another fight may have taken its place in my heart. Then there are the managers, promoters, event build-ups and other boxing shenanigans, ad naseum. I could even make a list of the best lists if I wished to.
Because I need to think all this through, and as a cop-out, I'm limiting this blog to one subject--Fighter of the Year.
The lucky recipient? Kelly Pavlik. Pavlik managed to knock out Jose Luis Zertuch, Edison Miranda, and Jermain Taylor in 2007. Those three notches in his ringpost sent him rocketing from fringe contender to World Middleweight Champion.
